Why Will Levis is a Blessing

The Tennessee Titans have been given a gift this year at quarterback and Will Levis should be cherished. I know when reading that statement and looking at the record the first thing you will demand is I take a drug test but please hear me out. At its core the NFL is an entertainment business and when looking at Levis that is exactly what he does, HE ENTERTAINS. The play on the field may leave something to be desired but we can talk about that a little later down the page. From the first interception Levis threw week one that turned into a viral sensation to him managing to turn an injury into weeks’ worth of memes that have been featured in every fantasy football group chat he has done nothing but entertain people on a national level, something that is rare for a Titan’s player not named Henry to do. Levis has the unique ability that every time he drops back to pass, you're unsure if he's going to uncork a 75 yard dime to Ridley running down the seam or if he's going to trip over his own feet and throw the ball to a defensive tackle. That type of anxiety producing ability is often only found in some of the very best horror films and makes every play must watch. When you look at his play over the entirety of this early season Levis has not been bad. He has led some great drives and thrown some beautiful balls, but the consistency is not there, and when we say not there, he either looks like a potential franchise QB or the worst player in football at any given time.  When looking at the reality of the season with the Houston Texans having a stranglehold on the division and the Titans lining up for an early draft pick this is exactly the type of play they can still make games entertaining even if there are no real implications. Personally, I want Levis to succeed, and I want to see the Titans as a competitive organization fighting for a playoff position, but this year has been a blessing because we are in a position to see if Levis is the guy moving forward or if we need to start over and find our QB1. The worst position we can be in is the one the Jacksonville Jaguars are facing right now, paying a guy 50 million a year while unsure if he is your QB of the future. It may be tough for Titans fans to hear patience preached to them, especially after years of success with Vrabel, Tannehill, and Henry, but the Titans are building a competitive team with a young offense and a great defense.  While they may not have their QB yet there is hope they will find him soon and when in doubt it is always important to just be thankful that at the end of the day at least we didn’t sign Deshaun Watson to a 230 million guaranteed contract.
